VP Pun expresses sorrow over huge loss of lives and property from landslide, flood

Kathmandu, Sept 4, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun ‘Pasang’ has expressed sorrow over the huge loss of lives and property from landslide and flood at Mobang of Dhorpatan municipality-3 in Baglung district on Wednesday night.

Issuing a press release today, Vice President Pun extended deep sorrow over the huge loss of lives and property at different districts including Mobang of Baglung and Sainabazaar of Achham from landslide and flood. He also extended tribute to those who lost their lives in landslide and flood. The press release reads, “I want to extend tribute to all who were killed in landslide and flood and condolences to the bereaved families.”

Extending concern about the condition of missing people in landslide and flood in Dhorpatan, Vice-President Pun urged all sides concerned to make initiatives being carried out by the federal, state and local governments more effective.

He also drew government’s attention for arrangement of relief and settlement to the displaced people and treatment to the injured. VP Pun further said that shifting the human settlement at the risk of landslide and flood to safer places and developing the systematic settlement is the only alternative to reduce losses caused by landslide and flood.
